    LIBRARY PROGRAMS

    Camas Public Library: Forever Young Book Group will feature favorite young adult authors and will meet Thursday, Dec. 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Simply Write, a writer’s support group, will meet Thursday, Dec. 27, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Read to Cooper, the dog, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Each reading session is 15 minutes.     Washougal Community Library: Baby and toddler storytime, for children ages 0 to 36 months, will meet from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 28. Teen Night is Friday, Dec. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday games are Friday, Dec. 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. Crafternoon is Thursday, Dec. 20, and Tuesday, Dec. 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. Build it! is Wednesday, Dec. 26, from 3 to 4 p.m. The library is located at 1661 “C” St. For more information, call 360-906-4860 or visit fvrl.org.

    SENIOR CITIZENS

    Meals on Wheels: Lunches, prepared by The Meals on Wheels People, are served at 11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday, in the Washougal Community Center, at 1681 “C” St., Washougal. Meals on Wheels home delivery is available Monday through Friday. Volunteers are needed.     Camas Senior Center: The Camas seniors’ monthly casino trip will be held Monday, Jan. 21, and go to Nisqually Red Wind Casino in Olympia, Washington. The cost is $5. For reservations or more information, call LaRhea Steele at 360-904-4274.

    Washougal Senior Center: The Washougal Senior Center provides coffee from 9 to 11:30 a.m., and Meals on Wheels serves lunch at 11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday. On Mondays, at 11 a.m., the center hosts a food bank. At 1 p.m. each Monday, there is a “hand and foot” clinic. At 10 a.m., on Mondays and Wednesdays, the center hosts an exercise class, which also is held in Camas at 10 a.m. on Fridays. Billiards is played at 1 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays. At 11 a.m. on Tuesdays, the center hosts “Music with Jeffree,” and at 11 a.m. on Thursdays, “Music with Gabe.” The watercolor class is held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. On Wednesdays, there is an exercise class at 10 a.m., gift bingo at 11 a.m., and regular bingo at 1 p.m. On Thursdays, the tai chi class (held in Camas) begins at 9:30 a.m. The center also hosts pinochle at 1 p.m. on Thursdays.

    ART GALLERIES AND MUSEUMS

    Second Story Gallery: December and January’s artist will be Jennifer Neal. She will show mixed media, water colors and acrylics. Second Story Gallery is open during library hours, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.     VOLUNTEERS

    Lost and Found Cafe: Meals are served to the community at 6 p.m., each Thursday, at the Zion Lutheran Church social hall, 824 N.E. Fourth Ave., Camas. Volunteer cooks are needed. For more information, call Inter-Faith Treasure House Executive Director Nancy Wilson at 360-834-4181.

    CLASSES

    Jazzercise Camas: Individuals are invited to try Jazzercise at no cost at Virtuosity Performing Arts Studio, 240 N.E. Third Ave., Camas. Jazzercise Camas also is offering free classes for young women, ages 16 to 21, in VEGA.     Riverside SDA Church: On the third, fourth and fifth Sundays of each month, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Camas-Washougal residents in need can stop by the church, located at 463 N. Shepherd Road, Washougal, to receive free food and clothing. For more information, call 360-835-3114.

    CLUBS AND GROUPS

    Soroptimists International of Camas-Washougal: Soroptimist International of Camas-Washougal meets at noon on the first Friday of each month at Zion Lutheran Church, 824 N.E. Fourth Ave., Camas. The group also meets at 7 p.m., on the third Tuesday of the month, also at Zion Lutheran. The Tuesday evening meeting features guest speakers. The Soroptimists’ mission is to help women and girls.     Buddhism Study Group: The meditation and Buddhism study group meets every third Wednesday from 1:30 to 3 p.m., at the Cascade Park Community Library near Firstenberg Center in Vancouver.     Watercolorists group: Watercolorist and teacher Nancy Ryan offers watercolorists a place where they can receive feedback, support, encouragement and camaraderie while improving their painting skills.
