    From Dec 25 to Jan 3, the “24th Fish Eating And Prized Goods Of Sing Buri” festival will be held at the Sing Buri College of Agriculture and Technology in Phrom Buri district, Sing Buri province.

    The annual festival will showcase local fish dishes, especially Sing Buri’s famous mae la snakehead fish, and promote farm produce and local tourism.

    Interesting activities will be the cooking of fish fried rice by the governor of Sing Buri and chef Thiravee Dissachaipong, a sermon by famous monk Phra Acharn Maha Sompong Talaputto, a light and sound show on the Mae La River, snakehead fish and the heroic deeds of Bang Rachan villagers, and the tasting of snakehead fish dishes at a street food market. Also, there will be fish model making, singing and beauty contests, an exhibition on freshwater fish, the sale of fish products and local and prized goods, cultural performances, a Red Cross fair and nightly concerts.

    Tourists can also visit temples and cultural attractions, such as Wat Sawang Arom’s Nang Yai museum, the reclining Buddha of Wat Phra Non Chaksi, the huge seated Buddha of Wat Phikun Thong, the standing Buddha of Wat Phra Chotikaram and the monument of Bang Rachan Heroes who died fighting Burmese invaders before the fall of Ayutthaya in 1767.

    Run in Phrae


    On Dec 30, the “Long Weekend Run (Wing Khiang Mek)” will take place in the morning on a 4.7km route in Muang district, Phrae province. The starting and finish point is at the old palace of Phrae rulers.

    On Dec 29, runners must register and receive a T-shirt at Winner Sport shop opposite Phrae Christian Hospital from 10am-7pm. On Dec 30, they must show up at the starting point to register for more souvenirs and have breakfast from 5-6.45am before the run is launched at 7am. They will run on the route and do activities to accumulate points from 7-9am.

    All runners must bring ID cards for registration and phones with the Line app for playing games. Finishers with 13 points and more will get Huawei P20 Pro phones. Meals, snacks and water are available free of charge for all runners.

    Application fees are 500 baht for adults and 400 baht for those under 18. Children under 12 can join the run free of charge, but must be accompanied by their parents.
